General description Valerian. Makes us relaxed just thinking about it. But we don’t use the root which is the part of the plant that Valium is derived. We use the flowers. Valerian works the same way as chamomile in relaxing plants, thus it’s use in a dormancy spray (see our Dormancy Formula), but it also brings the movement of the Life Forces, as carried by the elements, full circle from the beginning started by yarrow. You could say that it is the polar opposite of yarrow but that would not be accurate. It is the other end of the chain which begins with yarrow. In a sense, you can plug these two ends together and get wholeness, which is what Dr. Steiner was doing with his compost preparations. Valerian represents completion of the cycle of the growth of plants, the ultimate expression of that role of the plants. This is where the remedy is most useful (aside from frost control). Where there is either confusion in the roles of plants in a field or the roles are not filled the way they should be filled, a spray of the yarrow homeopathic remedy will resolve this difficulty. It will encourage the various plants and insects to come to that field so that the roles are filled (creating biocomplexity) and the field will grow into homeostasis or its steady state. Of course, even the homeopathic form of valerian can be used to protect the plants from frost. It can also be used in encouraging the formation of seeds. So, for example, if you have a crop of wheat, corn or soybeans, even cotton, and they are not “heading up”, a simple spray of the homeopathic valerian remedy will solve this problem too. It has quite an effect on ripening which is only the necessary step toward seed production. Made with valerian flower juice in pure natural spring water.
